Có rất nhiều người lầm tưởng đầu sprinkler sử dụng trong hệ thống báo cháy cháy do nó có hệ thống cảm biến nhiệt, nên gọi nó là đầu báo cháy sprinkler. Tuy nhiên khái niệm đầu báo cháy sprinkler hoàn toàn không đúng. Vì sprinkler không có nhiệm vụ thông báo sự cháy, bộ phận cảm nhiệt được thiết kế để phục vụ mục đích tự động thông minh của sprinkler trong hệ thống chữa cháy.
